Call for Diversity and Inclusion Activities

The involvement in automation science and engineering by groups that are underrepresented is only a small portion of what is necessary to have an automation science and engineering community reflecting diversity in society. Diversity is multi-faceted, including race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and cultural background.

We invite submissions of proposals for activities that help broaden participation in the automation science and engineering field.

Activities can range from meetings for specific groups to panels, reports on outreach activities, and many more. Example topics and activities include new open research questions that affect diversity in automation science and engineering, mentoring activities for students from underrepresented groups, community-building for young researchers (graduate students and postdocs), and reports on successes at increasing and sustaining diversity.

Diversity and Inclusion Activities are scheduled for September 1. Organizers are expected to be registered for the conference or alternatively for the workshop day. Further details can be found on our registration page.
